A longtime writer and editor, communications veteran and inveterate connector, Karen has worked in and around Silicon Valley for 30 years. For CNTI, she oversees content strategy for the organization’s programs, activities, and collaborations. As a corporate writer and editor, she has developed stories, styles and cadence for Google, Twitter, and many startups and executives. In 2018 she detailed her long-time avocation of connecting people in the book Taking the Work Out of Networking: Your Guide to Making and Keeping Great Connections. More recently she has advised a range of organizations needing a strategy (or a reality check) on their content, and informally counsels aspiring nonfiction authors new to the daunting world of book publishing. She is also a lifelong supporter of journalists and journalism, and she currently chairs the boards for both The John S. Knight Journalism Fellowships at Stanford and the News Literacy Project.
