Tanit Koch is a German journalist, columnist and presenter. She co-hosts the daily FOCUS Briefing, is a columnist for the British weekly The New World and will co-anchor the public-service broadcast format klar from 2026.

Previously, she served as the first female editor-in-chief of Germany’s best-selling newspaper BILD. She later became editor of RTL’s central newsroom and managing director of the news channel ntv. In 2021, she oversaw campaign communications for CDU chancellor candidate Armin Laschet.

Tanit began her career in 2005 as a trainee on the politics and business desk of BILD and at the Axel Springer School of Journalism.

She grew up in Bonn, attended school in Dublin and studied in Pamplona, Tübingen, Paris and Cologne. She holds degrees in law and political science and is an alumna of the Stanford Executive Program. In other news, Tanit is an enthusiastic padel player, an aspiring farmer and a mediocre musician.
