Since 2014, the Newsgeist “unconference” has convened journalists, media executives, and media technology platform providers to discuss and debate the most pressing issues facing the news industry. Previously hosted under the aegis of Google and with further sponsorship from the Knight Foundation, Newsgeist has evolved into a dynamic community of industry professionals.
In 2025, CNTI assumed the stewardship of Newsgeist, which brought together nearly 200 leaders from journalism, publishing, academia and research, as well as media entrepreneurs and technologists, to discuss a range of pressing issues in a variety of breakout sessions and presentations
